Radiohead will produce their third album themselves
Radiohead are going to produce their third album themselves, with the engineer who worked on The Bends in 1994, in a studio they are building near home. Colin Greenwood gives the news in the 11th W.A.S.T.E. newsletter, in which all five members write. Phil Selway is frank about how it feels.
We're producing the third album ourselves, so feelings ranging from extreme excitement to bowel-shattering terror are stomping round my head.

Colin writes that the band took January off after the heavy touring and spent February at home setting up a rehearsal space and working on new songs, some of which they played on the recent American dates. Flu cancelled the Denver show, part of what he calls a jinx with the city. Jonny Greenwood rates the tour perhaps their best in America yet.
Colin admits the official website has been thin, and says it will be relaunched in the summer with help from Apple and Stanley Donwood. Apart from the summer festivals and some August dates in the United States with Alanis Morissette, he says, fans will have to wait until next year to see them.
Thom Yorke lists what else is being built besides the studio: a website, and W.A.S.T.E. as the band's own merchandise operation.
we are not an industry, we are not an industry.
