Radiohead begin their sixth album in Los Angeles
Radiohead started recording their sixth album in Los Angeles on Sunday 1 September, with Nigel Godrich producing, and a week in Jonny Greenwood says they are starting a new song every day.
Jonny has been posting from the studio on the band's message board, including on day one. (Colin) is playing bass right now, and singing along like a loony….pretty intense stuff in here ! It's day one, and going fine.

By the end of the first week he had worked his way through the instruments. Played glock all day…and guitar all yesterday. Kazoo tomorrow. Everyone's very happy and we've started new songs every day. It's been a good start.
1 Ed O'Brien, posting too, has been listening to loads of reggae, and calls The Streets' Original Pirate Material his album of the year by a mile.
The band have booked about two weeks at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, and NME understands the sessions end around 15 September and the album, which has no title yet, is due out in March.
They are working from the songs played on the Portugal and Spain dates between 22 July and 7 August. “There There”, “A Punchup at a Wedding”, “We Suck Young Blood” and “Sail to the Moon” are four of them, all heard for the first time on the opening night in Lisbon on 22 July.
