Bodysong, Simon Pummell's film with a score by Jonny Greenwood, screens at the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival on Tuesday 11 November at 9.30pm, at the ArcLight Hollywood, and Pummell takes questions afterwards. Tickets are $11. The film still has no American distribution deal.
The British film runs 83 minutes with no dialogue or narration, and follows a human life from birth to death in archive film from about a century of cinema. It was shown in Rotterdam in January and competed at Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic in July.
It is in the festival's International Documentary Competition, and the festival guide notes that it has just been named Best British Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards in London on 4 November.
