The band announced the dates on 24 October. The allocation of W.A.S.T.E., the band's mail-order and fan club, sold out on 27 October, the day it went on sale. The Australian shows follow the Japanese dates set for April and are expected to be the last stop of the Hail to the Thief tour.
Michael Chugg, the promoter, told Undercover that the band could not be playing any better, and Ed O'Brien called the mood in the band brilliant. Asked how the tour was going, Phil Selway said Thom's voice has been incredible. That's the stand-out element for me. He's reminded us that he's in a league of his own.
