Michael Stipe dedicates “Electrolite” to Thom Yorke in Berlin

At R.E.M.'s concert at the Waldbühne in Berlin on 4 July, Michael Stipe dedicated “Electrolite” to Thom Yorke, one of R.E.M.'s biggest fans, as he put it, and to his brilliant band.

Stipe told the audience that Radiohead had opened for R.E.M. at the Waldbühne in 1995, that he and Yorke had a long conversation before that show and had been friends ever since, and that “Electrolite” is Yorke's favourite R.E.M. song.
