Radiohead give up on “Airbag” half a minute in at Berlin's Velodrom

first posted on Treefingers by Amie, Miro · rewritten for the archive

Radiohead came back for their second encore at the Velodrom in Berlin on Thursday and started “Airbag”, but about 30 seconds in Thom Yorke stopped the band and told the crowd, in stronger words than these, that they just couldn't play it. They played “A Wolf at the Door” instead, which was not on the printed setlist, and closed with “Everything in Its Right Place”.

It was the second German date of the tour, with Asian Dub Foundation opening, in a hall that is a cycling track for most of the year; one review noted the track running between the standing floor and the seats. The set began with “2+2=5” and took in “In Limbo” and “Dollars and Cents”, and “The National Anthem” in the first encore ended with a snatch of “Hunting Bears”.
