W.A.S.T.E., the band's mail-order shop and fan club, confirmed on 24 February that Radiohead headline Glastonbury on Saturday 28 June. It will sell 500 weekend tickets through its own ticket site from 1 April, and plans to put up a W.A.S.T.E. tent on the festival site to sell merchandise.
Glastonbury was cleared to go ahead only last week. Mendip District Council had refused the festival a licence on 12 December over crime and damage in the villages around Worthy Farm, Pilton. On Tuesday 18 February, after a seven-hour meeting, its regulatory board granted one by 10 votes to 4, and a second vote allowed 150,000 people. Michael Eavis has agreed to one stage fewer and the security fence, and put the result down to a spanking good presentation
