The first programme of The Radiohead Story, Steve Lamacq's four-part series for the BBC World Service, can now be heard online. In it the band talk about their days as On a Friday, signing to EMI, the success of “Creep” in America, and the struggles of recording The Bends and OK Computer.
The series goes out at 9.30am on four Mondays from 14 April. The third programme looks at the band's live career and includes tracks from radio sessions, and its producer, James Finlayson, told Planet Sound he was in talks to preview songs from Hail to the Thief.
Finlayson says Radiohead agreed to take part because they listen to the World Service themselves.
