The Darkness beat Radiohead to British Group at the Brits

The Darkness won British Group at the Brit Awards at Earls Court in London on 17 February, ahead of Radiohead, Busted, The Coral and the Sugababes. They also took British Album, for Permission to Land, and British Rock Act.

British Group was Radiohead's one nomination when the list came out on 12 January, while The Darkness led with four. It is the seventh year Radiohead have been up for a Brit, the first in 1994, when “Creep” was nominated for British Single, and the one before this in 2002. They have never won one.
