Matt Stone and Boy George talk up Radiohead

first posted on Treefingers by Miro · rewritten for the archive

Matt Stone, one of the creators of South Park, calls himself a huge Radiohead fan in a chat with viewers on SouthParkStudios.com. The band appeared in “Scott Tenorman Must Die” in 2001; Stone says they got talking and the band wanted to do a voice. He is not sure they were pleased with what the episode turned into, the one in which Scott Tenorman is made to eat his parents.

Great guys in that band. Really nice people.

Boy George, interviewed by Julian Baggini in the Sunday Herald about Straight, the second volume of his autobiography, argues that look and music go together for every musician. That includes bands as credible as Radiohead, who are not supposed to share pop's concern with appearance. Thom Yorke, he says, is an unusual-looking man who plays on it, and that is part of his beauty; he calls him an extremely attractive man, and takes the point back as far as Beethoven, who had a great look.

Their image is as considered as any drag queen, trust me
