Radiohead are number 73 in Rolling Stone's Immortals: The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, in which musicians write about the artists they admire. This second instalment, in issue 972 (dated 21 April, online from 7 April), covers numbers 51 to 100; the first 50 ran last year. Radiohead's entry is by Dave Matthews, between AC/DC by Rick Rubin and Hank Williams by Beck.
Matthews writes that each time he buys a Radiohead album he half expects this to be the one that disappoints, and it never is; he wonders whether they are capable of a bad record.
Jealousy just burns; Radiohead infuriate me.

Thom Yorke's lyrics make him want to give up, and he doubts he could ever write anything as beautiful as they manage in one song, let alone across album after album. He reads the jump from OK Computer to Kid A as the band telling the press and critics that nothing they do is for them, and puts it down to a strength of character in the music that is beyond their control.
Listening to Radiohead makes me feel like I'm a Salieri to their Mozart.
