Thom Yorke puts a new song, “Rubbernecks”, on the studio blackboard

Radiohead are demoing a new song called “Rubbernecks”, Thom Yorke has written on radiohead.com. It is the latest tune to go up on the band's blackboard, and Jonny Greenwood is stepping over guitar leads, pedals and a laptop to work on it.

Im asking Jonny to lay off the sweet rock and stick to the sticklebrick licks.

The band are back after a very quick break for winter illnesses and fevers, which Yorke says are still getting in the way. For now the song is a demo. He posted the words as well, and calls the chorus “the loud bit”.

The house they are working in is haunted, he adds, and he signs off with its another normal day in the world of radioheadski¹.
