Radiohead sponsor a student video prize for Thom Yorke's “The Clock”

written up for the archive

Radiohead are asking students to make a video for Thom Yorke's “The Clock”, from his solo album The Eraser, in a new music video category they sponsor at D&AD's Global Student Awards. D&AD, the British design and advertising association, launched the 29th awards this week, open to college and university students worldwide. Radiohead's is one of 32 briefs this year; IKEA, Puma, MTV and the housing charity Shelter have set others.

Entries go in between 5 March and Friday 23 March 2007, and a panel from the industry judges them. Work that makes the grade, moving pictures included, goes into the D&AD Student Annual, the association's yearly book. The best video for “The Clock” wins a D&AD Student Yellow Pencil, the awards' top prize.
