Thom Yorke says Radiohead have properly started their seventh album

Radiohead have properly begun recording their seventh album. Thom Yorke said so on the band's website, in three short sentences at the end of a post about climate change.

We've started the record properly now. Starting to get somewhere I think. Finally.

The rest of the post is about the Big Ask, Friends Of The Earth's campaign for a law that would commit Britain to cutting carbon emissions by three per cent a year. MPs are being pressed to write to the prime minister for a bill, and Friends Of The Earth want it in next month's Queen's speech. Yorke points to the floods, the high winds and still walking round in a T-shirt in October.

It's a start. It has to be law. Otherwise it's never going to happen. And it has to.
