Nigel Godrich posts a reel of the new album's tape offcuts
Nigel Godrich posted a short QuickTime video on Dead Air Space, the band's blog, on Friday 15 June, headed “a bit of tape from the studio”.
I keep bits of tape which have been chopped out of the mixes when they were edited .. stick em on a reel.. when you play it back it sounds like.. this

Ed O'Brien wrote on the same blog on Wednesday that the band were nearly there with the album. NME calls the clip the first new material from Radiohead since Hail to the Thief in 2003.
Within three days a copy, about a minute and a quarter long, was on YouTube with a caption naming the pieces heard: “Open Pick”, “All I Need”, “Down Is the New Up”, “Arpeggi” and “Bangers 'n Mash”. Its uploader could not place one more, guessing at “New Song”, “I Froze Up” or “Burn the Witch”. All five of the named songs were in the band's sets on the 2006 tour.
