Jack White says Radiohead recorded at his Third Man studio

written up for the archive

Radiohead have recorded at Third Man, the Nashville studio of Jack White's label Third Man Records, White told BBC 6 Music this week in an interview about his first solo album, Blunderbuss. I don't know how much to tell about it except I didn't play with them or produce. But they came in and recorded at Third Man.2 Jambands wonders whether the band put down a new version of “Supercollider”, which first came out as a Record Store Day 12-inch, or a new song altogether.

At Bonnaroo on 8 June, Thom Yorke dedicated “Supercollider” to White, said the band had seen him the day before, thanked him and told the crowd they would find out why. The festival site at Manchester, Tennessee, is about an hour's drive from the studio. That weekend the guess was that Yorke and White would turn up together at Questlove's Superjam, billed with unnamed special guests. Its big guest turned out to be D'Angelo, and others guessed White was producing the band, which he now says he did not do.

White had come close to confirming the Third Man visit on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, posted on 18 June. When Maron mentioned that Radiohead had told him they had been over at White's, White answered yeah, yeah10 and laughed, and the talk moved on.
