Jonny Greenwood's Kevin score loses out at the Ivor Novello Awards

Jonny Greenwood's music for We Need to Talk About Kevin, Lynne Ramsay's film of Lionel Shriver's novel, was one of three nominees for Best Original Film Score when the Ivor Novello Awards, Britain's awards for songwriting and composing, named their shortlists on 17 April. The others were Alex Heffes's score for The First Grader and the music for Life in a Day.

At the ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday 17 May, the award went to Heffes.
