Colin Greenwood presents Sounds of South Africa on 6 Music

written up for the archive

Colin Greenwood presents Sounds of South Africa on BBC 6 Music this Sunday, 28 July, from 4pm to 6pm. Earlier this month he was announced as Jarvis Cocker's stand-in on the same station. A few months ago I was lucky enough to be approached by one of my favourite radio stations to make a series of programmes1, he writes on Dead Air Space, the band's blog.

As Global Ambassador for the Children's Radio Foundation he has been travelling around South Africa. The programme is his pick of the music he heard there, with a bit of politics, between clips made by the Foundation.

His guest is Jeremy Vine, interviewed about his years as the BBC's correspondent in South Africa. It was fun to be on the other side of the microphone, asking the questions for a change.1
