Jonny Greenwood says Radiohead are recording their ninth album

written up for the archive

Jonny Greenwood has told BBC Radio Oxford that Radiohead are back together and working on their ninth album, their first since The King of Limbs in 2011. We're currently playing and recording and yeah, it's fun to see everyone again. It's been a long time coming.4 He was on the station to talk about a one-off concert of his film music at St John the Evangelist church in Oxford on 21 February 2015, with soloists of the London Contemporary Orchestra.

In July he said the band would reconvene in September to play, rehearse and record.

Asked how the record was going, he joked I'm late, they've all gone there now2. The band never feel they know how to begin an album, he said. The way that worked last time never works again, so they talk through different approaches and have more than one going at a time. 'Looking down avenues' is a very kind way of putting the kind of fumbling that we do4.
