Junun, Paul Thomas Anderson's film of Jonny Greenwood, to premiere on MUBI

Paul Thomas Anderson's Junun will have its worldwide premiere on MUBI, the subscription film service in more than 200 territories, on 9 October, the day after it opens at the New York Film Festival.

The film, announced last month, follows Anderson's trip with Jonny Greenwood and the Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur to Mehrangarh Fort in Rajasthan. Greenwood and musicians from across the Indian subcontinent worked there on Ben Tzur's album, which Nonesuch releases in November.

The film's title is another spelling of “junoon”, a word for mania, or the madness of love, in Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Hindi.
