Radiohead announce their first headline shows since 2012

Radiohead announced their first headline concerts since 2012 on Monday 14 March, two or three nights at a time in six cities from May to October. The band's site says these are all the headline shows they will play this year; the festivals already booked, and a few still to be announced, make up the rest. No album has been announced to go with them. The dates came with a new piece of artwork on Twitter and Facebook. Jonny Greenwood said in October that they had done a lot of the record but not finished it.

According to Dork, the Paris nights leaked first, the same day, when the French ticket seller Fnac Spectacles posted two headline nights at Le Zénith on Facebook. The two nights at the Shrine Auditorium in August are the band's first in Los Angeles since a benefit for Haiti at the Fonda Theatre in January 2010.

Tickets went on general sale on Friday 18 March, with Mexico City two days earlier, and the band held every show to two tickets per order to cut down on resale. The Roundhouse in London holds 3,300 a night, and its tickets cost £65 with the buyer's name printed on them. All three nights sold out quickly that morning, and tickets were soon on resale sites at hundreds of pounds over face value. British fans complained about the size of the venue and the way the sale worked, and Thom Yorke answered them on Twitter before the morning was out. I'm as fucked off as you are . and am only human .⁷
