Faber Music has published 88 (No 1), Jonny Greenwood's first work for solo piano, putting the score in print for the first time. It is in two movements, one slow and one fast, and Faber pitches it at advanced pianists.

Greenwood wrote it in 2015. Antoine Françoise gave the first performance at a London Contemporary Orchestra Soloists concert in Geneva; Greenwood then revised it, and Kat Tinker premiered the new version at another LCO Soloists concert in Budapest later that year.

Greenwood announced the score on Twitter, tagging James Rhodes as the only other pianist he follows.

New piano music on paper out today. It’s inspired by Glen Gould, and by the glorious mechanics of the thing.
