Radiohead play “Spectre” for the first time, in Chicago
Radiohead played “Spectre” for the first time on Saturday 7 July, at the second of their two nights at the United Center in Chicago, the night after the opening show brought back “Blow Out”. It came mid-way through the main set, between “Exit Music (for a Film)” and “Climbing Up the Walls”.
The song was written for the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, whose producers chose Sam Smith's “Writing's on the Wall” instead. Radiohead gave it away as a free download on Christmas Day that year.
Thom Yorke has been singing it at the piano on his solo tour since May, when he first played it at the Fabrique in Milan.
