Philip Selway scores Carmilla, Emily Harris's film of the Le Fanu novel

written up for the archive

Phil Selway is writing the score for Carmilla, Emily Harris's new feature, a coming-of-age romance drawn from Joseph Thomas Sheridan Le Fanu's Victorian vampire novel. Mix reports that much of it has been recorded at Evolution Studios in Oxford, where Selway played a range of instruments himself and brought in the Elysium string quartet and the cellist Laura Moody.

Nicholas Moorbath, who owns the studio, calls the score very complex and interesting. Philip and I have worked together in the past, so I was delighted when he brought his latest film project to Evolution.1
