Godrich is working with The Smile as he did on Thom Yorke's The Eraser and in Atoms for Peace. He was talking to Greg Kot as From the Basement, his studio series, returned on the Coda Collection today, opening with Radiohead's 2011 session for The King of Limbs.
He calls their drummer, Tom Skinner, the British Joey Waronker
2, after the American session drummer who played with Yorke in Atoms for Peace. Skinner plays in the London jazz group Sons of Kemet, with Shabaka Hutchings, and has done a great deal of session work. I sort of smile to myself, because I can see he's going to get a lot of attention.
