Jonny Greenwood's One Battle After Another score is out on Nonesuch
Jonny Greenwood's score for Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another is out digitally on Nonesuch from 26 September, the day Warner Bros. open the film in American cinemas. Greenwood plays much of it himself, on piano, guitar, bass, percussion and the ondes Martenot, the early electronic keyboard he has played since Kid A.
The London Contemporary Orchestra plays the score, with Greenwood's Smile bandmate Tom Skinner on percussion. The album has 18 tracks and runs about 49 minutes, opening with the title piece. Double vinyl and CD follow on 14 November.
Anderson wrote and directed the film, a present-day take on Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel Vineland, with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead.
Greenwood has scored every Anderson feature since There Will Be Blood in 2007, and this is the sixth in a row. It is also their second Pynchon film together, after Inherent Vice.
