Jonny Greenwood says Radiohead hope to tour again
Radiohead are hoping to tour again after last year's European dates, their first in seven years, Jonny Greenwood tells Naman Ramachandran of Variety. The catch is the lead time, which he also mentioned to El País four days earlier. It takes 18 months to plan and book each show, so we'd better get our skates on if we want to do one anytime soon.

Ranjha, his album with Shye Ben Tzur and The Rajasthan Express, came out last month on World Circuit/BMG, more than a decade after Junun. One of the group's two qawwali singers, Zaki Ali, died suddenly after a rehearsal in India while new material was being prepared. Greenwood says it devastated everyone. The pandemic got in the way too, and so did visas. He says some of the musicians on the American tour had no passports, birthdays or, in some cases, addresses.
Junun was recorded with Nigel Godrich inside Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. Ranjha was made at Greenwood's studio in Oxfordshire, which he saw as a straight exchange, letting the Indian musicians live and work in the UK for a few weeks. Zaki's brother Zakir Ali, the other singer, plays Moog and church organ on it, both for the first time.
