Radiohead release Thom Yorke's 2025 pre-show mix

Radiohead have released “2025 Walking In”, the music Thom Yorke chose to play in the arenas before each of the 20 shows of their European tour, their first concerts since 2018. It opens with Radiohead themselves, on “seattle ambient recording (minidisks)”, which Relix describes as an ambient field recording from the MiniDiscs material that leaked in 2019. Leonard Cohen's “Famous Blue Raincoat” comes two tracks later, and the mix ends with the Gaelic Psalm Singers. Between Cohen and the psalm singers come Syd Barrett's “Golden Hair”, Bill Evans's “Peace Piece”, Bernard Herrmann's “God's Lonely Man” from Taxi Driver, Ryuichi Sakamoto's “fullmoon” and a live Aphex Twin track recorded in Houston, alongside Moondog, Lee Hazlewood, billy woods and Danny Brown.

The band announced it on their social channels on 21 January. Experience (or relive) the ambience of a European arena while waiting for Radiohead to take the stage⁵.

The full version is a continuous mix of 34 tracks on Yorke's Mixcloud page, about two hours and 15 minutes long. The Spotify playlist leaves out the Radiohead opener and François Bayle's piece.

Four tracks are Italian: Fabrizio De André's “Cantico dei drogati”, Nino Rota's “Lla Ri Lli Ra” from Fellini's Nights of Cabiria, and two by the Rome producer Panoram. Rolling Stone Italia links them to the band's four nights in Bologna.
