Radiohead, she notes, call what they do angst music for angst people
1.
The Palladium was packed. Radiohead played for about half an hour, and Vare finds the three-guitar band far more aggressive live than on the single, with much of the set sounding like early-1980s power pop pushed through heavy distortion.
She hears a set full of possible singles, none of them as good as “Creep”, which she calls an anthem for the latest crop of disaffected teenagers and likens to the finest Peter Murphy song that never was.
