Radiohead's next single slips to September, the album to early 1995
The single Radiohead promised for May in the last issue of W.A.S.T.E., their newsletter and fan club mailing, is not ready. Issue seven says the band got so carried away with touring that they couldn't decide which song to release next, and it is now due in September, with the second album expected in January or February 1995. They are going back into the studio this week to finish it, at the risk of missing the World Cup.
After that come Sopot in Poland and Reading in late August, and a UK tour with The Julie Dolphin.
The spring took a batch of new songs through Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Germany, after three months in a London studio, and ended with three British dates. The band pick out Barcelona and Wolverhampton as two of our favourite gigs ever, completely out of control, technology breaking down left and right, in short, the ideal Radiohead show.

A show in Biella was stopped at the last minute by the Italian authorities, officially over the emergency exits. The band blame the right-wing government, and think that more likely they were worried that people were in danger of having a good time.

The London Astoria show was filmed and is to be shown on MTV Europe on 24 July. Japan and Hong Kong were packed, Australia and New Zealand semi-packed. In Japan, where the mini-album Itch gathered B-sides for the tour, Phil found he had a fan club of his own. Glastonbury fell on Colin's 25th birthday, and the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him.
