Radiohead played the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh on 21 May, the night Celtic met Porto in the UEFA Cup final in Seville, and Ed O'Brien kept the crowd up to date.

It was their first show in Scotland since Glasgow Green in September 2000. Three songs came into the set for the first time on this tour, which opened in Dublin four days earlier: “My Iron Lung” from The Bends, “Like Spinning Plates” from Amnesiac, and “A Wolf at the Door”, in the first encore. That one closes Hail to the Thief, due on 9 June, and the band played it at their warm-up shows in Portugal and Spain last summer.

It was 1-1 when O'Brien gave the score after “Backdrifts”, and 2-2 when he and Thom Yorke updated it after “We Suck Young Blood”. After “Idioteque”, with the game in extra time, Yorke was asking O'Brien for it again.
