Jonny Greenwood has been back on the official Radiohead message board, and he is pleased with the new album: the happiest he has been with any of their records, he says, with “I Will” being on it one of the reasons.
I think we got down some beautiful songs. They're all quite short, but that's probably good, right?

The b-sides are all very good too, he adds, with a smug smile. As for the title, Hail to the Thief is a line from “2+2=5”, and a good line.
Asked whether he plays the banjo, he says he does, on his Bodysong soundtrack, but he is not convinced it is welcome in Radiohead. He likes the instrument because it can sound sinister, and points to the Violent Femmes' “Country Death Song”.
