DR2 in Denmark shows a Radiohead special of about 65 minutes tonight at 10.50pm, built on the band's concert at the Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux on 5 July 2003, their first at the festival. The repeat is on Wednesday 12 May at 11.30pm.
Belgium's Canvas showed the same concert on 4 January, Austria's FM4 put it out on the radio just after midnight on 10 January, and France 2 broadcast songs and interviews from it in the small hours of Sunday 4 April. Last July the festival streamed the whole show, nearly two hours of it, on its website.
The special is an edition of Musikprogrammet, DR2's new weekly music programme. Anja Pil Overby presents it, and her studio guest is the Danish singer Dicte, an admirer of OK Computer. DR lists 11 songs, most of them from Hail to the Thief, opening with “My Iron Lung” and closing with “Sit Down. Stand Up.”
Between the songs the band talk about the years after OK Computer. They found the success hard to take and suffered stage fright, and they grew so distant from one another that they wondered whether to carry on.
