Radiohead make up the lost Amsterdam night at the Heineken Music Hall
Radiohead went back to the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on Monday 28 August and played the night they had called off in May. It is the last date on their 2006 schedule, the end of a European summer that began at Sziget in Budapest on 12 August.
The second of the two May nights was postponed on the day after Phil Selway's mother died suddenly. The band's statement that day named 28 August as the new date and kept the tickets valid.
The make-up night was far from a repeat of the first night there on 9 May. Ten of its 24 songs had not been played then, “Exit Music (for a Film)”, “Dollars and Cents” and “Myxomatosis” included. The band played all seven of the year's unreleased songs, with Jonny Greenwood's “Spooks” in the main set as well.
Jonny marked the day with two posts on Dead Air Space, the band's blog, titled “Amsterdam One” and “Amsterdam Two”, which hold pictures from the summer's travels and no words.
