Jonny Greenwood stepped up to the microphone at Radiohead's Toronto show last Friday, the last night Grizzly Bear opened for them, and thanked the Brooklyn band for touring with them. Thom Yorke, he told the crowd, had asked him to thank his favourite band in the world. Yorke's answer is on a clip that has since gone up on YouTube.

Jonny speaks!

It came just before “House of Cards”, which opened the second encore at the Molson Amphitheatre, and Jonny and Colin Greenwood were both wearing Grizzly Bear T-shirts. Grizzly Bear had supported on six August dates. When the slot was announced in April, Ed Droste of the band said Radiohead and Björk were the two acts he had always hoped to tour with.

Droste was watching from the crowd with Leslie Feist and Owen Pallett, and both turned to him in disbelief. He told The Quietus he was shocked, and that he misses touring with Radiohead. Of Yorke's line he says, Oh Lord, that's a big statement and not entirely true, he speaks, just not a lot on stage1.
