“What The Eyeballs Did”, the B-side of Atoms for Peace's 12-inch of “Default”, was played for the first time on Mary Anne Hobbs's XFM show on 31 October, and a recording of the broadcast was on YouTube by the next day.

Atoms for Peace are Thom Yorke, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on bass, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker on drums and Mauro Refosco on percussion, the five who played Yorke's solo album The Eraser live and named the group after those shows. “Default” came out as a download in early September, and the 12-inch follows on XL Recordings on 19 November, with an instrumental version of “Default” and a foil-stamped sleeve by Stanley Donwood.

Fact, streaming the radio recording, calls the new song energetic and jittery where “Default” is glitchy and ambient, its groove almost like the group reworking Iggy Pop's “Lust for Life”. Flea's bass is out in front.
