Radiohead's first four demo tapes go up for sale on eBay

A San Diego eBay seller has listed four early Radiohead demo cassettes, described as the band's first four, at a buy-it-now price of $49,999.99, with offers invited, and three have come in so far.

The tapes date from the late 1980s and early 1990s, when the band were still called On a Friday, and some carry early versions of songs that ended up on Pablo Honey. That period also produced Manic Hedgehog, the 1991 demo named after an Oxford record shop, and songs from a 1986 On a Friday tape surfaced online in January.

The listing has a photograph of the tapes and one line about the band, “Greatest band in the world”.
