Radiohead play on through the rain at the Santa Barbara Bowl
Radiohead played the Santa Barbara Bowl on Thursday 12 April, a one-off on the way to Coachella, and about a third of the way through the set it began to rain. The crowd barely moved. Thom Yorke, under cover on stage, seemed to feed off it, and Aly Comingore of the Santa Barbara Independent saw him trade his usual reserve for smiles and laughing check-ins with the soaked audience.
It was the band's first show at the Bowl since 2008. Yorke went almost straight into “Bloom”, “Identikit” and “Planet Telex” came in the first encore, and “Paranoid Android” closed the second.
