Atoms for Peace premiere “Judge Jury and Executioner” on Radio 1

Cover: Stanley Donwood (artwork), XL RecordingsThom Yorke and Nigel Godrich brought Atoms for Peace's “Judge Jury and Executioner” to Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show on Monday evening, 7 January, for the first play of its studio recording. It went on sale on iTunes the same day, with no warning.
It is the second song from Amok, after “Default” in September, and a gentler one, led by skittering programmed percussion. The band played it live in Los Angeles in 2009, and this is its first studio recording. Amok is out on XL at the end of February. A 12-inch of the new song follows in March with “S.A.D”, which is not on the album, on the B-side.
The band will play Britain and Europe, but neither man could say when. It's still being figured out. It's on the table.
4 Pitchfork's account of the interview left room for some of the members to turn up at Glastonbury this summer, but asked whether Atoms for Peace would play the festival, Yorke said no. We won't have got our shit together by then.

Lowe asked too about the songs Radiohead recorded at Jack White's studio in Nashville last year, and Yorke said they would come out. It's in the mountain of stuff that I've got to finish… first I've got to get the kids from school.
