Radiohead played 57 concerts in 2012 and nothing from Pablo Honey

Radiohead played 57 concerts in 17 countries in 2012, from Miami on 27 February to Melbourne on 17 November, and not one song from Pablo Honey. Every song on The King of Limbs got played, and “Bloom”, “Lotus Flower” and “Reckoner” were played at every concert. A fan site made the count, which Music Feeds reprinted this week. It leaves out the Austin City Limits taping on 6 March.

The band played 54 different songs, counting short excerpts of “True Love Waits” and “Hunting Bears”. The Bends got two, “Planet Telex” and “Street Spirit”. Two songs not yet on any record were regulars, “Identikit” at 34 concerts and “Ful Stop” at 10. Three were played only once: “Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box” in Glendale on 15 March, its first outing since 2001, “Subterranean Homesick Alien” in Cincinnati on 5 June, and “A Wolf at the Door” in Amsterdam on 14 October, the last song to join the year's sets.

By the fan site's count, “Everything in Its Right Place” was usually led in by a fragment of something else, “True Love Waits” 14 times. Other people's songs got the same treatment, with Neil Young's “After the Gold Rush”, R.E.M.'s “The One I Love” and Björk's “Unravel” six times each.

“Bloom” opened 35 concerts, the first 28 of them in a row through Montreal on 15 June, and “Lotus Flower” was the usual opener from Taipei on 25 July. “Idioteque” closed more concerts than any other song, though only three of the first 17.

The night after Montreal, the show at Toronto's Downsview Park was called off when the stage collapsed that afternoon and killed the drum technician Scott Johnson. At Nîmes on 10 July, the first concert after Toronto, “Lucky” opened, “Treefingers” was played live for the first time (it came out once more that year), and “Reckoner” closed the night, dedicated to Scott Johnson.
