Jonny Greenwood invited into the Oscars academy's music branch
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited Jonny Greenwood to become a member, one of 322 artists and executives it asked to join on 26 June. He is one of 19 invited to the music branch, alongside Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Johann Johannsson, and Common and John Legend for Selma.
The academy lists him for The Master and Inherent Vice, two of the films he has scored for Paul Thomas Anderson. He also scored Anderson's There Will Be Blood, the score the same academy ruled ineligible for the Oscars.
