Thom Yorke co-presented Benji B's show on BBC Radio 1 from 1am to 4am on Thursday 8 September, choosing records and talking between them. Radiohead's dates this year end at Austin City Limits in October, and he told the show that a break will follow. We'll do some more shows next year, but I don't know exactly what yet.1

Asked about putting Tomorrow's Modern Boxes out through BitTorrent in 2014, Yorke said the work of finding new ways round the industry's giants takes something away from the music. Radiohead pioneered the surprise release, selling In Rainbows from their own site in 2007 at whatever the buyer chose to pay. A Moon Shaped Pool arrived in May after leaflets were posted to fans and the band's website went blank. Enough of that now. I've entirely had enough of that. No more fuss, just put it out. I'm getting too old for that.1

He wants to bring back Atoms for Peace, his band with Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco, once Radiohead's touring winds down and Flea is free of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Near the end he played a revised version of his 2009 remix of MF Doom's “Gazillion Ear”, which DIY said lays glitchy noise, thin beats and drifting synths under the rapper's untouched vocal. He introduced Girl Band, from Dublin, as the music he and his son have been listening to most, and on hearing Vince Staples for the first time he said that was great, man2.

He has also been making music again with Kieran Hebden, who records as Four Tet, and Burial, the pair he shared a 12-inch with in 2011. One new piece fell by the wayside. I did another thing, but the vocal was too dark, according to Kieran. For me, that's 'Really? Too dark, even for me? OK.'1
