Ed O'Brien says he is deep into his second solo album

Ed O'Brien is well into making his second solo album. He said so on Instagram at New Year, in his first post after a break from it that he says he needed. I'm deep into my next record, and deep in the process¹, he wrote, and promised to share more soon, from the music to his influences and his gear.

The new record follows Earth, which came out under the name EOB in 2020 with Colin Greenwood, Laura Marling and Portishead's Adrian Utley playing on it. Five weeks ago Philip Selway said that Radiohead were coming back round to working together.

The post opened on the war in Gaza. Like so many of you I have found the events of October 7 and what has followed too awful for words¹, O'Brien wrote. Ceasefire now. Return the hostages.¹
