Radiohead's live Hail to the Thief goes in at number two on the UK vinyl chart
Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009) has entered the UK Official Vinyl Albums chart at number two, kept off the top by another new entry, Florence + the Machine's Everybody Scream. It is Radiohead's second vinyl number two, after Kid A Mnesia in 2021; OK Computer, in its OKNOTOK edition, and A Moon Shaped Pool both went to number one there.
The same week it went in at number 12 on the Official Albums chart. It is the physical edition, a single limited run that followed at the end of October, that has put the album into the sales charts. It came out digitally, unannounced, on 13 August, reaching number eight on the Official Album Downloads chart that week and, according to Forbes, number three on iTunes in Britain and the US the next day.
In America it entered Billboard's Top Album Sales chart at number eight, the band's ninth top ten there. A little over 8,000 equivalent album units, nearly all of them sales of the album itself, also took it onto the Billboard 200, at number 200, the last place on the chart. It is Radiohead's 17th album on the Billboard 200, and only their second live one, after I Might Be Wrong in 2001.
