So. Central Rain
R.E.M.'s apology, played in Munich in 1997 by a band who owed them a great deal.

reckoning
“So. Central Rain (I'm Sorry)” was R.E.M.'s first single from Reckoning.
R.E.M. took Radiohead on tour with them in 1995, and their singer Michael Stipe gave Thom Yorke a line for getting through a tour that became the chorus of “How to Disappear Completely”.

Radiohead played it at the Colosseum in Munich on 1 November 1997, on the OK Computer tour, as a third encore after “Street Spirit” had already closed the second. Twenty-two years later, asked on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for his favourite R.E.M. song, Yorke chose this one.
