Radiohead play the Garage in London days after missing Reading
Radiohead played the Garage at Highbury Corner in London on Wednesday 1 September, their first gig since they pulled out of the Reading Festival, and Thom Yorke apologised to the crowd for Reading. He told them he had woken up on the day of the festival with no voice.
Adrian Deevoy, reviewing the night in The Times today, calls it their only London show of a brief homecoming tour, and counts it a success by the number of sweaty bodies sent flying towards the ceiling. The 14 songs included “Yes I Am”, the B-side of “Creep”, which Parlophone reissues today. Yorke threw his microphone down during “Anyone Can Play Guitar”.
