New music by Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood will get its first performance at the Ether festival in London, as part of the London Sinfonietta's two evenings at the Royal Festival Hall on 27 and 28 March 2005. The Sinfonietta calls it a new departure for Greenwood, a night when the Royal Festival Hall is filled with traditional Arabic song and the eerie sound of multiple ondes martenots2. The ondes Martenot is the early electronic keyboard he plays in Radiohead.

Greenwood is composer in residence with the BBC Concert Orchestra. The Sinfonietta already know his writing; their statement says they played his piece “Smear” in Leeds and Bruges earlier this year.

Tickets go on sale through the Royal Festival Hall at 9am on Thursday 16 December. Radiohead Television will be on screen as well, with the videos, animation and unreleased tracks that make up the band's DVD, The Most Gigantic Lying Mouth of All Time.
