Radiohead labelled the In Rainbows masters “Kula Shaker demos”
Radiohead disguised the masters of In Rainbows as records nobody would bother to play, Colin Greenwood says. They were marked “Eagles: Greatest Hits”, “Kula Shaker demos” and “Phil Collins hip-hop covers”, and every CD made during recording was destroyed at the end of the day.
Every Radiohead album since Kid A had turned up online before its release, and this time the band were set on keeping the release in their own hands.
It felt like a gigantic risk. Like Mission Impossible, almost.
