It shares the list with Lady Gaga's “Shallow” from A Star Is Born and with “All the Stars”, Kendrick Lamar and SZA's song for Black Panther. Members of the Academy's Music Branch drew up the 15 from 90 eligible songs, and now vote for the five nominees, to be announced on 22 January. The ceremony is at the Dolby Theatre on 24 February.
The score itself is not among the 15 on the Original Score shortlist, picked from 156 eligible scores. Jonny Greenwood was nominated for that award this year for Phantom Thread, which lost to The Shape of Water in March.
“Suspirium” was the first piece Yorke released from the score, on 4 September, when the album was announced. It is a piano waltz with Yorke singing and a solo flute played by Pasha Mansurov, and it carries the theme that runs all through Luca Guadagnino's film.
