Billie Eilish sings “Creep” for the first time, in Amsterdam
Billie Eilish sang “Creep” at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on Sunday night, the first of her three nights there and the first time she has performed it. She sat on a stool with a guitarist beside her, 13th in a 25-song set and outside her usual setlist. Near the end something in the distance set her laughing. She raised the microphone to start again, burst out laughing a second time, then pulled herself together and finished the song.
Eilish and her brother and producer, Finneas, have long named Radiohead as an influence, and Finneas played “Fake Plastic Trees” on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge last October. In 2019 her tour manager, Brian Marquis, told Rolling Stone that Thom Yorke had told her she was the only one doing anything interesting. Yorke saw her play in London that year and told The Times he liked her because she was doing her own thing. Nobody's telling her what to do.
